Enfin un weekend au sec! Vite, vite, on en profite pour aller prendre l'air, direction Rouken Glen, le parc préféré de nos deux aventuriers: des toboggans très hauts et plein de structures à escalader ...que demander de mieux ...

At long last a dry weekend! Quick, let's head for Rouken Glen Park, the current favourite: high slides, the best helter skelter in town and plenty of climbing... what else could a 3 year old ask for ...?

Depuis le temps qu'on l'attendait, le soleil est enfin là. Alors pour en profiter au maximum, aujourd'hui direction la plage! On s'est régalés: pateauger dans l'eau, faire des patés de sable, pique nique sur la plage, et on a meme eu droit à une glace!

Dommage que la photographe ait oublié son appareil. Piètres photos et vidéos en noir et blanc prises avec un portable déréglé (merci Noah) pour illustrer cette belle journée ...

Rouken Glen Park

Palacerigg Country Park

Petite balade à Palacerigg pour allez voir les animaux de la ferme. Une chose est sûre: les paons ne sont pas farouches!

A trip to Palacerigg today to go and see the farm animals. One thing is certain: the peacocks are pretty tame!

Après les animaux, petit détour par l'aire de jeux. Noah apprend à manier la pelleteuse ... et Liam attend son tour patiemment!

After the animals, we also swing by the playground. Noah is learning to handle the wee digger... while Liam patiently waits for his turn!

Cold-y

Parce que la grammaire ce n'est pas toujours logique, Liam et Noah réinventent le dictionnaire... Comme on dit noisy, busy et yummy, ils n'en démordent pas, on dit aussi loud-y et bien sûr cold-y.

Et ce dimanche matin là, il faisait particulièrement cold-y sur les berges de Hogganfield Loch...

Because the english language is not always logical, Liam and Noah reinvent the dictionnary. Just as you say noisy, busy and yummy, they are adamant you should also say loud-y and also cold-y. And it was very cold-y today on the banks of Hogganfield Loch...

Noah distribue les croutons de pain, miette par miette et fait durer le plaisir...

Liam lui se débarasse de sa part de pain rassis rapidement avant de faire des tours de ponton en courant pour se réchauffer ...

While Liam throw his stale bread in the water as quickly as possible before running around the platform to warm up...

Tricycles - Trikes

En faisant du rangement dans le grenier, Papa a eu l'idée de redescendre nos tricycles. Dans l'appart c'est pas terrible alors aujourd'hui qu'il faisait beau, on en a profité pour faire un tour au parc. Rappelez vous il y a presque 2 ans, on aimait ça mais il fallait nous pousser ... Maintenant on est capables d'avancer tout seul mais on a deux techniques bien différentes!

While tidying up the loft,Daddy found our trikes. They're not exactly great in the flat but today was a lovely sunny day and perfect to go for a ride in the park. Remember almost 2 years ago, we liked them but we always needed someone to push us.... Now we're able to move ourselves, although we have very different techniques !  

Calderglen Zoo

En ce samedi ensoleillé, nous sommes allés nous promener à Calderglen Zoo. Bon, c'est pas le Zoo de Lunaret mais les singes, mangoustes et différentes variétés d'oiseaux nous ont occupés un bon moment ... et puis le zoo est très joli, ce qui ne gâte rien ...

On this sunny staurday, we went to Calderglen Zoo. It's not very big but the monkeys and birdies kept us busy for a good while ... the zoo is very well kept and we will be back ...

On s'est beaucoup plaint ces dernières semaines de weekends de pluie mais aujourd'hui, quand on s'est réveillés et que le soleil brillait, on n'a pas hésité: direction la plage !

We've been complaining about the rubbish summer weather and wet weekends but this morning, when we woke up and the sun was finally shining, weknew what to do: head for the beach !

D'abord un pique nique sur l'herbe parce qu'on n'est pas fans de sandwichs au sable !

First, pic-nic on the grass because we're not big fans of sand sandwiches !

Puis direction la plage - un bac à sable géant ...

Then, the beach - a giant sandpit ... 

Et puis surtout, la mer !!! Rappelez vous Liam l'année dernière qui, sur cette meme plage, refusait de mettre les pieds dans le sable ou l'eau. Cette année, il était le premier à patauger.

And last but not least, the sea !!! Remember Liam last year on this same beach? He refused to put his feet in the water but this time, he was the first one paddling.

Et pour finir cette super journée en beauté: une bonne glace !

Il faudra juste expliquer à Liam de ne pas commencer par le bout du cone ...

Riverside Museum

Encore un weekend de pluie... Aujourd'hui, direction le nouveau Musée du Transport, nouvellement reinstallé sur les rives de la Clyde (et rebaptisé Riverside Museum).

Un vrai paradis pour deux petits garçons: des trains, des voitures, des trams, des voitures de pompier.... le paradis je vous dis! Et encore on n'a pas eu le temps de tout voir. Il faudra qu'on revienne (on ne manque pas de weekend de pluie).

Another wet weekend ...Today we're heading to the new Transport Museum, newly reopened on the banks of the Clyde (and therefore renamed Riverside Museum).

A complete paradise for two wee boys: trains, cars, trams, fire engines ... a true paradise I told you ! We didn't have time to see everything but we will come back. It's not as if we're short of wet weekends...

Kelvingrove Museum

Encore un weekend pluvieux ... Pour changer un peu, nous sommes allés au musée. Oui mais pas n'importe quel musée: le Kelvingove. Une institution glaswégienne, un musée où l'on peut trouver de quoi faire plaisir à tout le monde. Pour deux petits garçons comme nous, nous avons évité la gallerie de peinture et on s'est concentrés sur les animaux et la partie "nature et découvertes". On n'a pas vu le temps passer entre l'éléphant, la girafe, les tortues géantes ou les tarentules !

Another wet weekend... For a change we decided to go to the museum. And not any old museum: the Kelvingrove. A true Glasgow institution with enough exhibits to please anyone. For two wee boys like us, we decided the Mackintosh gallery might not be appropriate and headed instead for the animals and nature section. We had a brilliant time checking out all the animals !

On a été particulièrement intéressés par le cadre d'une ruche. Il était plein d'abeilles en train de travailler - elles rentrent et sortent par un tube en plastique (ci dessous) - et on était fascinés de voir d'où vient le miel que l'on met sous nos tartines !

Liam - c'est quoi ça? Du miel ? Et comment ça marche?

We were particularly interest by the frame from a beehive. It was full of bees working away - they come in and out through a transparent tube (pictured below) - and we were mesmerised to find out how the honey we put on our toast was made !

Alexandra Park

Après Hogganfield Loch il y a quelques semaines, nous avons aujourd'hui fait notre retour à Alexandra Park. Il ne faisait pas très chaud et en plus le toboggan ne descendait pas très bien ...

We went back to Hogganfield Loch a few weeks ago and today, it was our old stomping ground: Alexandra Park. It wasn't really warm and we weren't that impressed with the slides ...

Et au fait, la cariole a repris du service! Il faut vraiment que maman se trouve un vélo parce qu'elle a du mal à suivre ;)

Oh and by the way, the trailer is out again! Mummy really needs to get herself a bike because she really struggles following us ;)

Balloch Castle Country Park (on Mother's Day)

Aujourd'hui c'était la fete des mères en Ecosse et pour l'occasion on est allés passer la journée à Balloch sur les berges de Loch Lomond.

Après un bon petit repas, nous sommes allés se promener à Balloch Castle Country Park.

Today it was Mother's Day in Britain and we decided to spend the day in Balloch, on the banks of bonny Loch Lomond.

After a nice meal, we spent the afternoon in Balloch Castle Country Park.

A Balloch Castle, il y a une chouette aire de jeux avec une vue imprenable sur le loch depuis le tobbogan !

At Balloch Castle, there is a great playpark with an amazing view over the loch, especially from the top of the chute! 

On a redécouvert les tobbogans sur lesquels on avait fait nos premières descentes il y a deux ans avec Papa. On est bien capable de faire tout seul maintenant, mais les parents se sont payés un petit quart d'heure nostalgie...

We rediscovered the slides on which we had our first slide experience two years ago with Daddy. We are more than capable to go down on our own now but the parents went on a little trip down memory lane ...

A Balloch, il y a aussi des pelleteuses qui ont bien amusé Papa et Noah !

In Balloch, they also have little diggers which were a lot of fun for Noah and Daddy !

Et à Balloch, il y a bien sur Loch Lomond dans lequel on peut faire des ricochets, jeter des cailloux et des branches et aussi essayer de se mouiller les pieds. Mais Maman veille au grain !

And in Balloch, there is of course Loch Lomond where we can try and skip stones (well Daddy can), throw stones and sticks and try and get our feet wet. But Mummy is watching !

Printemps à Tollcross Park - Spring in Tollcross Park

Hier matin, il neigeait sur le chemin de l'aéroport, mais aujourd'hui, ça commence à sentir le printemps.

Nous sommes allés à Tollcross Park voir les animaux de la ferme, mais seuls les moutons étaient de sortie.

Yesterday morning it was snowing on the way to the airport but today, spring is in the air.

We went to Tollcross Park to see the farm animals but only the sheep were out.

Hogganfield Loch

Maintenant que les jours rallongent, on peut aller se promener après la sieste. Hogganfield, nous revoilà !

Now that the days are getting longer, we can go out after our nap. Hogganfield, we're back !

Calderglen Country Park

Une belle après midi d'automne et nous voilà partis à la découverte d'un nouveau parc.

Pas trop en forme, on n'a pas voulu marcher et on a fait la balade en poussette.

A beautiful autumn afternoon and we're all set to discover a new country park.

We weren't feeling too good and decided to stay in our puschairs for the entire walk.  

Au fait, vous avez remarqué nos nouveaux bonnets? C'est Maman qui les a fait!

Maintenant on est assortis à notre cousine Flavie.

By the way, did you notice our new hats? Our mummy made them!

Now we match our little cousin Flavie.

Hogganfied Park (again)

Il commence à faire froid, Liam adopte la capuche !

It's getting cold, Liam likes his hood up! A little hoodie in the making :)

Liam met de l'ordre dans le parc et jette les feuilles mortes à la poubelle.

L'automne va être long ...

Liam decided to tidy up the park and to put all the fallen leaves in the bin.

It's going to be a long autumn ...

Le weekend dernier pendant que Maman travaillait, Papa nous a appris à descendre le toboggan tête la première. Il fallait bien que Noah montre à Maman !

Last weekend while Mummy was at work, Daddy taught us how to go down the slide head first. Today, Noah is showing Mummy how it's done !

Et au parc, il n'y a pas que les enfants qui s'amusent !
