S I X

Pour  leur anniversaire, Liam et Noah avaient envie depuis (très très très) longtemps de le fêter à l'aire de jeu pas loin de chez nous. Et cette année, on a finalement dit oui! Au programme, un samedi, 22 petits copains et deux énormes gâteaux. Les deux affreux étaient absolument ravis et je crois que les copains se sont bien amusés aussi. Désolé pour la piètre qualité des photos prises en intérieur avec mon portable et en essayant de canaliser une troupe de 5-6 ans ... 

For their birthdays, Liam and Noah have been asking for a very long time if they could have a party at the local soft play. We said no a couple of years running but this year, we relented and finally said yes! The party was on the Saturday. 22 of their school friends turned up and they had 2 massive cakes to blow their candles! It was a pretty hectic afternoon but our two monsters were absolutely delighted and I think their wee pals had a pretty good time too (some of the boys never made it down from the playing frame for the food, cake and candles!). 

Apologies for the rubbish quality of the pictures, taken indoors with my phone while also trying to contain twenty-odd crazed schoolkids...

Dimanche, le "vrai" jour, nous avons commencé les festivités à la maison avec des cupcakes et des bougies pour le petit déjeuner, avant d'ouvrir les premiers cadeaux. Nous avons ensuite passé la journée au Science Centre qui faisait une journée spécial dinosaure (ça tombait plutôt bien!) mais je ferais un autre billet pour la peine!

On Sunday, we started the day with cupcakes and candles for breakfast, before they opened their first presents. We spent the rest of the day at the Science Centre as they were having a dino special on that day (that's what I call good timing) but I'll save that for another post!

Dean Castle

Une autre balade qui nous avait bien plu cet été ... Une belle journée d'automne, de belles couleurs dans les arbres mais malheureusement un petit Finn qui se prend pour Peppa Pig, patauge dans toutes les flaques et qui a fini presque noyé dans une grande flaque boueuse causant un retour précipité à la maison (et un petit garçon à poil sur le parking!)

Another walk me and the boys really enjoyed in the summer and wanted to share with Lee ... A gorgeous autumn day, beautiful colours in the trees but unfortunately Finn turned into Peppa Pig and decided to jump into every single puddle until he fell head first in a giant muddy puddle, almost drowned and we had to rush home (and let's not mention having to remove all his clothes in the car park before we could get him in the car!)

Epouvantail - Scarecrow

L'école organisait un concours d'épouvantail pour agrémenter leur petit jardin. Nous avons décidé d'habiller notre épouvantail aux couleurs de l'école et de le remplir de feuilles mortes puisqu'il y en a plein le jardin ...

Nous n'avons pas gagné mais on s'est bien amusés à le fabriquer! 

Liam and Noah's school is organising a scarecrow competition. The winner will be displayed in the school garden and win some gardening vouchers. We decided to dress our scarecrow in the school colours and fill it with fallen leaves ... 

We did not win the competition but we sure had fun making our scarecrow!

Finlaystone Country Estate

Nous y étions déjà allés avec les garçons cet été pendant que Lee travaillait et ils avaient tellement aimé que l'on s'était promis d'y retourner avec Lee. Finlaystone Country Estate est un grand parc forestier avec plein de sentiers de rando et urtout une multitude de jeux pour les enfants dispersés dans la forêt: toboggans, tyroliennes, bâteau de pirate, cabanes en bois etc. On y passe facilement la journée !

We went to Finlaystone Country Park back in the summer but without Lee who was at work. The boys enjoyed it so much that we kept meaning to go back with Lee. Finally this weekend, the sun was shining and Lee was here so we spent the day there! 

Liam finit par conquérir sa peur du toboggan - il n'a pas l'air comme ça mais il est bien pentu!

Noah, lui n'a peur de rien !!!

Liam finally comes to term with his fears and goes down this rather steep slide. Noah, as usual, doesn't do fear!!!

Puis plus tard dans la journée, sur un autre tobbogan, Noah découvre qu'en s'asseyant sur son nouveau doudou, il descend beaucoup plus vite! Liam n'a pas mis longtemps à le suivre!
